I've heard whispers that it might be good for the country for a Democrat to win the 08 Presidential election.  The thought is that the Democrats would then have to start acting like adults in that they would actually be responsible and accountable for their actions.

I'd like to take this _theory_ one step further -- what would happen if both Bush and Cheney resign?  Pelosi now becomes President. 

First, can you see the look on Hillary's face when she figures out that she won't be the first female President!  That look alone would probably be worth any negative affects that a Pelosi Presidency would create.

Second, the Pelosi now becomes the presumptive Democrat presidental candidate.  Again, further deflating Hillary, Obama, et.al.  It would also likely be pretty easy for a conservative candidate to beat the socialist San Franciscan.

Now, with Pelosi as President, if she pulls the troops out of Iraq, she's accountable for the results. 

I'd like to see here sit down, burqua-less, with the al-terrorist leaders so they can tell her to her face that she is not even worth the value of the fleas on a camel.

I'm sure that she would propose enough socialist programs over the next two years that any conservative candidate would have no trouble winning in '08.
